The Lambton Attack U9 HL-2 ladies dropped a 5-2 decision to the Lucan Irish in Lucan on Sunday, Feb. 8, a contest that was much closer than the score indicated.
Lucan jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the opening frame while adding two more in the second period before the Attack could get on the board, but the lack of scoring wasn't for lack of effort.
Lambton was all over the Irish, who dominated the action the last time the two squads met, and all three of the Attack's lines were rolling with pressure in the offensive zone and solid defensive play in front of netminder Holly A who came up with a number of huge saves, including a highlight-reel worthy one off of a one-timer.

The team's hard work was rewarded in the 3rd period when June C. potted a pair of goals to keep her hot-streak going, but the two tallies weren't enough as Lucan would add a fifth marker to take the decision 5-2 and drop Lambton to 0-2 on the regular season.
Mya S. was named Lambton's Hardest Working Player of the Game for her gritty performance that saw her involved in the action on both ends of the ice.

Lambton returns to action on Valentine's Day, slated for a 12:15 p.m. tilt against the Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia.
